AFTER A FEW SETBACKS, SP TOUR FINALLY HITS THE ROAD Posted by Pat Things definately didn't go as planned, but after delays, setbacks and a bunch of problems, Simple Plan's US Tour is finally under way! The tour had it's first outing last night in Denver, Colorado to a great crowd and good times. Doors had to be delayed as technical problems arose, but in the end I'm pretty sure that all were pretty happy as Simple Plan took the stage and rocked the Denver crowd. After all this international travel it's also good to be back in front of familiar faces and back on the bus with our own stuff. The guys all have their favorite bunks to sleep in, favorite food in the fridge and favorite movies on TV. (Actually last night we all watched iRobot, which I don't think is anyones favorite movie, but who can resist Will Smith in a sci-fi action flick?) Today, the boys were in Omaha and as I write this, they are one song from being done the set. Another great night, with a sold out show! Not bad for a city the band has never played before. Tomorrow is a day of and then it's more shows, shows, shows. These have been a lot more intimate than some other shows that the boys have done, so you should definately check out the tour dates and come by and say hi! Formely at the North Shore Events Centre, the show is now being held at The St.James Theatre. Of course, all tickets are valid for the new venue.. See you at the show!

SIMPLE PLAN NOMINATED FOR MTV LATIN AMERICA VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS Posted by Pat SP is currently in the middle of their first South American tour, so what better time to announce to announce that the band was recently nominated at MTV's Latin America Video Music Awards. No, Simple Plan aren't from Latin America and they're not nominated for a song called "Bienvenito A Me Vida"! They are nominated for Best International Band alongside The Foo Fighters, Green Day, Good Charlotte and Coldplay. The awards are being held on October 20th in Cancun, Mexico. SP TREK THROUGH SOUTH AMERICA, AS WE GIVE YOU A PREVIEW OF CRAZY Posted by Pat For the first time ever, Simple Plan is currently in the middle of a South American tour taking the to Brasil, Argentina and Chile. The guys have already played two amazing shows in Rio Dejaneiro and Sao Paolo.. No one knew what to expect and were blown away when over 8,000 people showed up in Rio and 30,000 in Sao Paolo! Now that's what I call Brasilian hospitality. Today is our last day over here and we then fly to Buenos Aires. Time is really flying by and before you know it, the boys will be in Australia and then back to the US. For those of you who don't happen to be in this part of the world and who are itching to hear SP Live, the good news is that “SP Hard Rock Live” is coming out October 4th... The great news is that we have another preview of the record for you! This time it's the brand new acoustic version of “Crazy” from the record... The guys just recorded it and played it for the first time yesterday at in-store signing in Sao Paolo.. A thousand kids showed up, the guys played a few songs and the new version of Crazy sounded amazing. And with the new video for the track coming out soon I'm going crazy for crazy lately so I figured I'd give you a sneak peek. Check it out, right here, right now.

I don't want to give too much away, but the clip is being shot in a way the guys have never been shot and this is going to be a really cool different look. Posted by Simple Plan We are extremely sad to announce that we had to cancel our performance on the Hurricane Katrina Relief show on MTV. Last night, at our show in Stratford Ontario, Pierre was injured while performing on stage. We had to stop the show early and he had to be rushed to the hospital. Pierre and everybody in the band really wanted to come back and finish the show....Unfortunetely, his condition did not permit this. We are really sorry about that and would like to sincerely apologize to all the fans who came out to the concert. We were hoping that Pierre would be ok to be playing on the Hurricane Relief show today but he was in no shape to be performing. Helping out all the people who suffered from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina was very important to us and we feel awful that we had to pull out of the show. We hope all you guys understand. Pierre is resting right now and, don't worry, he will be fine and ready to rock again in time for our South American tour! Thanks for all your support. SP FORCED TO CANCEL SHOW DUE TO CONFLICTING SCHEDULE Posted by Pat I'm sad to have to announce, that due to unforseen international commitements, the guys have been forced to cancel what would of been the first show of their upcoming tour down under. The September 29th show in Christ Church, New Zealand has been canceled with tickets being however honored at SP's other NZ date, in Auckland, on October 1st. The guys sincerely apologize for this unforseen cancelation and hope that fans can make it to Auckland. Every other show in New Zealand is on, almost sold out and promises to rock! There are almost no tickets left for all the shows so the guys are super stoked and can't wait to see all their amazing nz and aussie fans. See you down under! Starting in mid-october, the boys will trek through the US coast to coast. SP is bringing two amazing bands to support, Plain White T's and Straylight Run. Like you guys and millions of others, the SP guys have been glued to the TV, watching the developpements and wanting to help out. They are proud to announce that they will be taking part of "ReAct Now: Music & Relief", a huge concert being held on September 10th and broadcast from New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and Atlanta on MTV, VH1, CMT, MTV2, VH1 Classic and MTVu. The special event will is being set up to raise money for the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, America's Second Harvest and tons of artists are participating, including Green Day, Usher, Kanya West, The Rolling Stones, Kelly Clarkson, Motley Crue and a bunch more. Well now, the whole show is being released this fall. That's right, on October 4th, "Simple Plan Live at Hard Rock" is being released with the complete show and a rad picture booklet of the guys on tour. Along with the live show, the CD will include 3 acoustic tracks. For collectors, the CD will also have a seperate release that will include the CD as well as an added DVD of the show and a limited edition Hard Cover 32 Page book. The whole thing looks amazing and I can't wait for everyone to see it. Tom Leykis is a syndicated radio jock who hosts a show in LA on 97.1. His show is broadcast on hundreds of stations around the US so he is most likely on one of your local radio stations. The boys will be performing which is dope, but I have to warn you that before listening to anything else Tom Leykis says, I have to yell "EAR MUFFS"! All he talks about is sex and I'm sure he'll try to embarass the boys... Should be fun. Oh, and did I mention that the show is being broadcast live from the playboy mansion? Yeah, this thing will definately be PG-16. Don't say I didn't warn you... TEEN CHOICE REMINDER: SP will be performing this coming week at the Teen Choice awards. CHINA FALLS FOR SIMPLE PLAN Posted by Pat For the past 5 days, the guys have been in Beijing, China for a bunch of promo, an award show, a proper SP concert and a lot of visiting with MTV. The experience has been amazing and the boys got to play for amazing fans and see amazing sights. Not a lot of bands come through this country and it has been both an honour and a privilege for the boys to be here. The trip is coming to an end, but you will be able to see plenty of it, depending where you are. MTV Asia was there all along filming and part of that wil also be used in the US. For fans in China, you get to see the boys a lot sooner. Their performance on the CCTV MTV Mandarin Music Honors is being aired on China's own CCTV, this thursday, July 28th. UNTITLED GETS RETIRED FROM TRL, THANKS TO AMAZING SP FANS Posted by Pat Wow, after 50 days on the TRL Countdown, Simple Plan's video for "Untitled" was sent into retirement and celebrated for being on the countdown for so long. This is quite an honour and it means the world to us. We are extremelly proud of this video, it's message and the meaning the song has to us and a lot of you. But more importantly, we are touched and honored to have such amazing and loyal fans to support our band and our videos. It's not an easy task to get retired from TRL and from the day it came out you guys have been calling and voting and keeping the clip up there and that means the world to us. SIMPLE PLAN, HARD ROCK LIVE AIRS ON MTV Posted by Pat During the recent "Noise To The World Tour", the boys recorded a performance for HARD ROCK LIVE. Well now, you can see it! MTV will be airing the whole performance, intercut with a bunch of interviews, this Wednesday, July 20th at 8pm.
